Information about the Centre

The Urology Department is a Brussels Europe Hospitals Centre of Excellence. A team of six internationally renowned urologists provide the highest quality of healthcare, using state-of-the-art equipment and surgical techniques.

Oncology

Oncology is a key aspect of the work of the Urology Department. A multidisciplinary St Elisabeth Campus (urologist, oncologist and radiotherapist) provides patients with the most suitable treatment for their condition and major oncological surgery is performed on a daily basis.

The Department is highly experienced in the following procedures:

Radical Prostatectomy,
Radical Cystoprostatectomy,
Radical Cystectomy,
Radical and Partial Nephrectomy,
Prostatebrachytherapy with iodine-125 implants.

All of these procedures are performed using Da Vinci High-Definition robotic surgery; indeed, the Brussels Europe Hospitals are the first in the city to have acquired this cutting-edge surgical robot.

Endourology (Stone Clinic)

This Department provides minimally invasive treatment for patients with urinary stones and uses the most modern equipment and techniques available:

Flexible Video-Uretero-Renoscope
Holmium Yag laser
New-generation Extracorporal Shock Wave Lithotripsy (ESWL) (Wolf Piezo 3000)
Percutaneous Nephrolithotomy

A team of urologists, nephrologists and dieticians provide integrated medical treatment and help patients to decrease the risk of urinary stone recurrence.

Reconstructive Urology

The Reconstructive Urology Department specialises in minimally invasive reconstructive techniques:

Female Urogenital Prolapse abdominal or vaginal Colpopromontofixation
Pyeloureteral Junction Syndromes: Pyeloplasty
Overactive Bladder and Reflux Syndromes: Ureteral Reimplantation or Continent Vesicostoma
Urethral Reconstructive Urology

All the above procedures are also performed using the Da Vinci High-Definition robot.
Another major field for the Department is male and female incontinence and patients with such conditions are offered highly effective treatment from a team of urologists and kinesists.
